Brief History of the Study Program
The Electrical Engineering Study Program, now known as the Mechatronics Engineering Study Program, was officially established on March 31, 2015, by the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (No. 122/M/Kp/III/2015). after undergoing a long preparation process. The Feasibility Study Team for the establishment of the Mechatronics Engineering Study Program was formed in 2012. The team was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology at that time, Dr. Paulus Sukapto, Ir. MBA., with members including Dr. Bagus Arthaya, Ir., M.Eng., Ali Sadiyoko, S.T., M.T., Romy Loice, S.T., M.T., Elisati Hulu, S.T., M.T., Herry Santoso, S.T., MTM., Ph.D., and Benny Purnawan, S.T., M.T.
The establishment of the Mechatronics Engineering Study Program was driven by the idea that engineering education is one of the key educational programs that must be developed in Indonesia to support national development. Mechatronics Engineering, as a field of study, faces the challenge of continuously contributing meaningfully to solving existing problems and anticipating new ones, especially those related to mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and informatics.
